Uninstalling Photoshop

Community Beginner ,

I own Photoshop 13 and I just bought Photoshop 2018. How do I uninstall photoshop 13 on my computer so that I can install it on my sons computer? In other words, if I uninstall it using Windows 10 will it reset the serial number to 'no' installs so that I can reinstall it on my sons computer?

Installation vs activation:

Installation :

You can use the installer to install on many computers, but you need a 'key' to allow the installed programs to work according to your license.

Activation:

You are entitled to two 'activations', which means the license key will allow you to work on two computers altenatively.

Say you have three computers, two can be activated at the same time. If you want to activate the third one, you'll have to 'deactivate' one of the former two.

Activating/deactivatiing is now called 'sign in/sign out' in recent versions. It's in the menu Help.

You deactivate in a computer (no need to deinstall), and you enter the key in the third one. In your case, you install PSE13 on your son's computer and enter the serial key (available in your Adobe account). You deactivate in your own computer to keep an activation license free if you want to reactivate on another computer.

Note that if you deinstall in a computer and reinstall on the same computer, you don't need to activate/deactivate. The key is linked to the hardware identification.

If you can't deactivate a computer (which has been stolen for instance) you have to ask Customer Care by Chat.

In your case, you are allowed to transfer your license to your son.

Uninstalling or signing out of the product removes the serial key, and the same serial key can be used on other computer.

So even if you do not want to remove the product, and just remove the license key, follow the below steps:

1) Launch product

2) Go to Help -> Sign out

This would free your license key from this computer and you can use it on your son's computer.
