Upgrade from PE 18 to PE 23 Catalog question

If I do an upgrade from PE18 to PE23, will my catalog from 18 work ok with 23 ?

OR

is it best to uninstall 18 and do a full clean install.

Any advice greatful.

No need to uninstall PSE18. You can have different versions at the same time on your computer. When you install PSE2023, you are prompted to 'convert' the current catalog to the new version. Agree to that prompt. At the end of the installation, the conversion reads the old catalog and writes a new one with the same catalog name. The old one is renamed with a -1 suffix and still works with PSE18.

You also can convert the old catalog again if necessary from the organizer menu (manage catalogs).

Don't decide to uninstall PSE18 until you have fully tested PSE2023.

Thanks for that, was a bit worried as catalog has lots of files dating back years.  Will give it a try if time after work, if not will move it to the top of my (well wifes) jobs list for next weekend.
