Using elements 12. Can't print. How can I fix?

When I click the final print command, I get a message that says:  Can not print this image.  I can print from other programs such a documents, pictures or E mail so it is not in the printer but these won't work for me because they do not allow odd size paper and they make all pictures fit whatever size is chosen.  I want to print long, skinny pictures.

Go to File>Print. In the dialog that comes up, "#3 Select Paper Size", use the drop-down to select "User Defined".

In the Print dialog, bottom left, click on "More Options" and go to the Custom Print Size tab.

It is after I do this that I get the message "cannot print this image".
