I have been using Photoshop Elements 8 for several years on my Windows 10 PC.  Now, all of a sudden, my videos won't play. They are simple videos from my Samsung S23. They played just fine for years, although they were jerky. Now I receive an error message: "Your system does not have the required compressor/decompressor (codec) installed." Help!

I suspect that you are recording with the HDR color space turned on.  Even Elements 2024 (for Windows) does not currently support that format.  To confirm that my suspicion is correct, check out this webpage which will tell you how to use MediaInfo, a free utility, to determine whether the video has been recorded in HDR.  (You can also check out the settings on your S 23.  I'm an iPhone user, so can't tell you exactly where to look.)
