Viewing cr2 files in win 7 ms ie

I downloaded "MicrosoftCameraCodecPack-x64.msi" that's supposed to allow me to view Photoshop Elements 2018 .cr2 files in Microsoft Internet Explorer.  It does not, and others in forums say the same thing.  No one has a solution.  What to do?

Which model canon camera do you have?

The microsoft codec pack is really outdated and they don't even offer it for windows 10.

A better alternative is a third party codec pack like FastPictureViewer Codec Pack or SageThumbs.

Thanks for taking the time with the tip.  I'll try the free SageThumbs first, then the $10 (after the trial) FastPicturerViewer Codec Pack after.
