Was passiert beim Import mit identischen Dateinamen?

Hallo

When you are importing a file with the same filename as another file already in the same destination folder, there are two distinct control levels:

-1 First, the operating system (Explorer/Finder) checks that situation and to allow the download, renames the imported file with a numbered suffix, -1 etc. so that there is no duplicate filename in the same folder.

- 2 After that download, the organizer downloader checks if the file cat be registered in the catalog. The idea is to check if the files are exactly similar in content and format, in which case they are duplicates in the organizer definition. The criteria to check similarity are date_taken (not only day) AND file size in kilobytes. You can import and register two files with the same filename, provided they are not in the same folder. The comparison is valid with files in the same catalog.

So, in your case, only the first level of checking is relevant. Possible similar file names on the same day (not frequent obviously) will be automatically renamed. You might want to use the advanced options of the downloader to rename the files at import time to distinguish them more easily.
