why does pse5 shrink the files after renaming

i used the PROCESS MULTIPLE FILES under the file menu.

i needed to add the word CROP to the name of each file.

it cut the 320kb file to 76kb

when i used convert to JPEG hi quality it end up at 124kb.

i did not choose resize images

maybe the pic is just as good... but how can i rename multiple files without it shrinking the file
