Why is Elements 14 Freezing?

This happens when I select a picture in Bridge CC2019 to open in PSE 14.  The image takes a while to get into Elements and then the spinning beachball appears.  The only way to fix this is to shut down Elements and start again.  Then everything works as it should. I am using Mac OS Mojave. Anyone have an idea how to repair this?  Thanks.

Thanks for the tip.  My version of PSE is checked off.  Perhaps I should add Bridge CC2019 to that list.  I'll try it and if it works I'll report back.
