Why is Photoshop 2020 Elements so childish?

I have been using Photoshop Elements 10 since December 2011 and I used Photoshop 6 before that. I just recently had to upgrade my 2009 mac mini and I was forced to abandon PE 10. I have never seen something so dumbed down in my life. Where is the magic wand? Where are all of the tools that one needs to do even a half-arsed edit? Is there another version of Photoshop that has the professional style tools and layout intact? I really hope so because I am totally unimpressed.

The modern interface is a bit different but most of the tools should be familiar. For the magic wand click the selection tool icon displayed in the toolbox  and choose the exact tool required at the bottom from tool options – see images below.

Don't be modest. Use the 'Expert' editing mode, not the 'Quick' or 'Guided' edits in the top of the editor display.

You'll find your old tools... and many new and powerful ones. That will be a lot to learn, you are welcome to ask for more info in the present forum.

The new Auto Selection (select subject) tool is well worth trying.
