We've been using Photoshop Elements 2018 for Windows for a long time (obviously). My wife upgraded her laptop from Windows to Macbook Air. Since she's used to Photoshop Elements, I thought about getting an upgrade on Elements but from Windows to Mac.
Wondering if the backup we have from the Windows 2018 version of Photoshop Elements will correctly import into the 2024 Mac version of Photoshop Elements.
Any idea?
Though the Photos app that Apple has seems pretty decent.

See this HelpX Article. Towards the bottom of the page, it discusses converting a Windows catalog to Mac.

Thanks for that link, Greg. I took a look at it. It seems to mix up the reference from mac to windows in the windows to mac section (unless I'm not following it very well).
The new Mac laptop doesn't yet have Photoshop Elements on it. The Windows computer has version 16.
I logged into my Adobe account online and it doesn't give me the option to download a Mac version of the same vintage. Thus my question -> if I get the latest Elements version for the Mac, can I import the catalog from version 16 from Windows.
From the link you provided (again, the direction they're moving - Win->Mac seems backwards with this statement below):
I'm not sure how to get Mac version 16. But the link says I can get the latest version. Which is it? I need the same version or the newest version? I'm still confused.

Elements 16 wouldn't work on the new Mac. So you will need to purchase Elements 2024 for the Mac. Once it is installed on the Mac, you will be able to Restore the catalog that was backed up on the Windows machine. During the Restore process, the catalog should be converted from Elements 16 to 2024.
The best thing to do will be to download the free trial of Elements 2024. It is fully functional. So you will be able to see if the restoration of your Windows backup works.
