Adobe Elements 14 - Not Enough RAM

I have an old computer and I was working on making cutouts for my many collages but when I go to save it... an error message comes up... Not enough memory to perform this task... and it shows (RAM)? Why? I have elements 14 which is recommended at 4 Gigs of RAM and that's what I had on my computer? What is the problem with keeping older versions? I like the version I have right now.
