Can Photoshop Elements invert negative TIF files to positive in batches?

We are a newspaper printing company that receives TIF files as negatives and need to convert them to positives. We currently use an old program called File Distributor that is no longer supported and unreliable. The files come in to our FTP site, File Distributor converts them to positives, and sends them to a Hot Folder. Is this something that Photoshop Elements can do?

I see that Photoshop Elements can Invert images. Are we able to create a script that can send it to our Hot Folder?

Photoshop Elements cannot create scripts.  However, if you can get somebody to create a script ("an Action") in Photoshop CC, you could play it in Elements.   Since all you want to do is invert the image and save it, and that capability exists in Elements, the script should be able to play OK.  There is a 30 day free trial for Elements.  You can see if it suits your needs.

We do have the full version of Photoshop on another computer to create the script. Is it possible to run the script without having to hit the Run button in Actions? In other word, is there a way to create a Hot Folder that will automatically run the script once files are placed in the folder?

One other question, someone mentioned to me that Elementsonly works with RGB (not CMYK). Is this true?

No.  But I don't know about the Elements plug-in that is mentioned in the other thread.

Yes.  Elements does not work in the CMYK color space.
