When I try to move picture(s) from Lr 6 to Ps 2021 there is a problem.  I also had this problem going from Lr 6 to Ps 15. I am running Win 10.  I select the pictures in Lr I want to edit in Ps  by using Lr I go to Photo>Edit In>Edit In Photoshop Elements Editor (or Open in Layers in Photoshop).  Photoshop Elements Editor will open (or pop up if already open).  But the pictures do not appear in Ps Editor.  After a few minutes, I will get the error message in Lr:  "The files could not be edited because Ps Editor could not be launched (even though it was launched).  It doesn't matter if I use the top menu in Lr or right click on the pictures in Library and choose the same choices.

Hello,

Could you please confirm if this issue is encountered both with files with/without Lightroom adjustments?

Also, please try resetting the default app preferences for both Lightroom as well as Photoshop Elements.

Regards,

Medha Sharma

Thank you very much for your reply to my inquiry. Here is some additional
information after working with trying to get Lr 6 adjusted photos over to
edit in Ps 2021 (newly purchased Ps, but I had the same issue with Ps
Elements 2015).

Here is something more I found: regardless of whether I try to "edit in
Ps" from an unedited or edited Lr file coming from either Lr Library or Lr
Develop Modules I get this flow process:

Right click on the picture>Edit In>Edit In Ps Elements Editor. The
Elements Editor either opens or pops up if already open, but nothing more
immediately happens. I wait about 2 minutes and then this message pops up
on Lr "The file could not be edited because Adobe Ps Elements Editor could
not be launched". I click OK in this message and then immediately the file
transfers from Lr to Ps Editor.

I checked Preferences in both Lr and Ps. Each shows the other name as
External Editor. I don't know how to reset the default.

Thank you for your help. Any additional information you can provide would
be appreciated.

This reply mode does not allow me to attach a picture file.  I can say, these are either RAW (.CR2) or .jpeg files and none move to Ps without the process I described above.

Thanks again for your time.

Thanks again.
