Can no longer save edited opictures due to "Not enough RAM"
I have tried the registry edit solution (OverridePhysicalMemoryMB) but it still hasn't cured the problem .
What else can be tried please ?

Are you sure you followed the steps exactly?
If so, I would use the Adobe Cleaner Tool and uninstall and reinstall:

I had to construct a folder in the registry first so that is an additional area where I may have an error .
In Software I created :
Folder: Adobe
Sub folder: Photoshop Elements
Sub sub folder : 16.0
Then I went through the new key routine.

Hi ,
Have you bought the Elements from Windows Store ?
If not then the said structure of Adobe -> Photoshop Elements in registry must be present by default .

Hi ,
Please recheck steps to add registry from this help page.
If it does not solve the issye , Try to increase available RAM for Elements from Edit menu -> Preferences : Performance tab.

Thanks for that. I am uncertain how to increase available RAM. When I look at the Perfomance Tab I get the "Insert an integer between 50 and 8 " instruction but where do I go fropm there?

There has been thousands of users hit by that Windows update issue. It appears that most (nearly all) users managed to use the workaround to edit the registry successfully. Understandably, a small percentage of users did not succeed in editing exactly, letter for letter and in the right subfolder; those failed to solve the problem. However, there has been enough feedback to tell if the registry edit has been correct. Just copy and paste in your answer the first fifteen lines of the report you get from the menu Help >> system information. We'll see if it's necessary to re-edit the registry or if it is a different issue.

Memory available to Photoshop Elements: 8 MB = that means that the edit has not been successful.
Look at what I get:
Do you use a Windows store version of PSE 2018?
Edit:
That's what appears in your System Information. There are been testimonies that some users have been able to correctly edit the directory, but that means my screenshot may not help.

Thanks for help . Yes I have a downloaded version from Windows Store which meant that I had to construct a folder in the registry. As far as I can tell I have done this in the prescribed way:
Software:
Folder: Adobe
Sub folder: Photoshop Elements
Sub sub folder: 16.0
Followed by the new key (OverridePhysicalMemory MB )and modification of that to decimal field value of 4000
Still no joy so I am now stuck.
Further suggestions have been to uninstall and reinstall But that means that all me organisation will be wiped so I only want to do that as a last resort.
