Elements 2020 new install performance issues

I recently installed photoshop Elements 2020 on my Mac and I'm having performance issues.  My entire system has slowed down, not just Elements.  Can anyone help me, please.

Could you provide more information so that we can narrow down the issue:

1. Which of the 3 application are you using, Photoshop Elements Editor, Premiere Elements Editor or Elements Organizer?

2. If using Elements Organizer, what is the catalog size?

3. What operation do you perform which lead to performance issues.
