How to copy the Title Page of a photobook in PSE 18.0

I need to create a single page layout, like the title page of a photobook, to use as a back page for my photobook. Currently I am not able to make a copy of the title page. I am only able to copy the 2-page layouts. How do I create a 1-page layout or copy the title page? Either would work.

When you create a photo book in PSE it automatically creates a 1-page
format page called the "Title Page" and some number of 2-page format pages.

If you want to add pages to your photo book there is a small icon you can
click that creates additional 2-page format blank pages.

The problem is that this capability only ever adds (creates) new 2-page
format pages. You can never duplicate the "Title Page" or create a new
1-page format page.

Even if I select the Title Page and then click the "Add Page" icon it only
creates a new 2-page format page.

I want to create a photo book that has one 1-page format "Title" Page, some
number of 2-page format pages and a 1-page format "Back" page for the back
of a hardcopy book.

How can I create this additional 1-page format page?

There are a number of kludges that I can employ to create the Back page
separately from my photo book but this is not ideal. I want to create a
1-page format page, inside my photo book, in a similar manner as I can
create new 2-page format pages. I want to create the Back page as part of
my photo book and not externally as a separate file.

Is this possible?

I find it rather difficult to help someone who refers to , I assume, employees, as

I am very sorry you read my message in that way. It was not, and is not, my
intention to offend those who I am reaching out to for assistance. What I
meant by "kludges" was "awkward workarounds". I hope you are having a
better day today.

Yes, I think your only option is a kludge.  (Glenn, if you are not familiar with the term, think of it as a workaround.  😉)

I guess my question is how do you intend to export or print the book?  You can save the photobook as a pdf and edit the pdf.  And if you intend to print it yourself to an inkjet printer, it shouldn't be too difficult to print and collate it as you desire.

Thanks Glenn, I think you are right about which options are available to
me. What I need to do can be done once the photo book is in PDF format but
I was hoping to accomplish my goal within PSE. As good as the PDF option
may be there is some value in visually working with the layout in PSE.

Today I am creating each page of my photo book as a pdf and then stitching
those documents together as I need to alter or rearrange the document.

It just seems surprising to me that a page in a 1-page layout format is not
available other than the Title page. I even tried to resize the canvas but
that option is greyed out. Maybe I need to learn more about Smart Objects.

Hi Ted,

You've probably already worked out you this "kludge" 🙂 yourself, but just in case, and for the benefit of others:

1. Create your title page and all your 2-page spreads as you would do normally.

2. Click the "Advanced Mode" button.

3. Select the "Title Page" in the Pages panel.

4. Click the "Layers" panel button.

5. Put all the existing layers into a new layer group named Title Page.

6. Duplicate the new Title Page layer group and name it Back Page.

7. Hide the Title Page layer group.

8. Make any edits you want to the new Back Page layer group, e.g. keep the background, delete the image, move and change the text.

9. Hide the Back Page layer group when you've finished, and make the Title Page layer group visible again.

10. Now you've got your whole photo book in one document.

11. When you go to print, print the whole document with the Title Page layer group visible.

12. Then hide the Title Page layer group, and make the Back Page layer group visible once more.

13. Go to print again, but this time use the Remove button on the left-hand side of the Print dialog window to remove all the pages except the top one - which is of course, your new Back Page.
