Default panel a screen hog top-to-bottom even though layers info uses only small part of that space. I have seen advice to double click the "layers tab" or gray area at top to roll it up, but there is no tab in my (default) workspace & clicking empty area at top of panel does nothing. What I'm missing. Thanks.

While it's true you can double click on the Layers tab to roll it up, only if there is another panel there as well, it really doesn't make any difference to the space since there will still be the empty panel space showing.

Using the keyboard shortcut Shift+Tab will completely hide/unhide the panels on the right side.

Pressing just the Shift key will hide/unhide panels on both the left and right.
