Windows 10 and I have just downloaded Photoshop elements 2020. I have used older version before.

Upon opening first photo I see that it is squished from bottom to top. Is there a setting I can change.

I can't use it this way!

What is the source of the photo? (Camera/phone make and model or phone app).  Did the same photo display properly in the older version of Elements.

Can you post a screen shot of the distorted image.

Are all photos distorted?

Does the photo appear correctly in the Windows photo app?

What OS are you using?

Does the problem affect ALL photos?

If the problem does not affect all photos, what camera or phone was used to take the problem photos?

What is the size of your monitor?

Can you give us a better screenshot?  Take a look here for various ways you can do this.

This happens with every photo so it is not a photo problem.

I mentioned I have Windows 10 and Photoshop Elements 2020. Trial

I have had Photoshop in my old computer and it worked perfectly.

I think its a setting with my computer maybe... everything looks very big.

I have a Samsung monitor - 24 inch?

I cant get a screen shot.... have tried but can't

Hey I noticed even in this program the original photo I sent you looks distorted so it must be a computer setting.

Does OS not mean Windows 10??? I mentioned that several times now. Other than that I don't know what you mean???

My resolution is 1280 x 1024

The Monitor Info comes up as generic now that Windows 10 and new harddrive was installed..

Can you find the model number on the monitor?

I would like to see if the native resolution of that monitor matches the resolution to which you have it set.

Sorry for not noticing your posts about your OS.  🤐

Have you tried changing your Windows' Scale and Layout settings?  Go to Settings>System>Display>Scale and Layout.

Here’s what I did,

I right clicked on my main screen, I chose display settings, I clicked on display and in the scale and layout it has 100% and the only other choices are 125% or 150%. my display resolution is at 12:80×1024. My orientation is at landscape.

When I go into advanced , my bit depth is 8 bit colour, format RGB colour space standard dynamic range SDR
set up Is - display one - I cannot change it

My Monitor is Samsung 2433BW

I went on the buttons on the side of the monitor and changed the scale size and position image size to “auto”.... this has corrected my problem however now none of my windows are utilizing the full size of my monitor it’s 2 inches short on both sides.

How can I change this?

That is an unusual resolution for a modern computer/display.  If you go to the dropdown menu, is that the recommended resolution?  If not, change it to the "recommended" size.:

Added:  I just looked up your monitor specs.  You need to change the resolution to 1920x1200.
