Where there used to be image thumbnails for tiff files saved from Photoshop Elements 15, they are now only icons with "tiff" written on it. Viewer options are set to "show thumbnail" in Preferences, but it doesn't work. Computer is a Mac OSX 10.11.6. Any help on resolving this would be appreciated.

Hi,
Can you provide some sample images by attaching them here or privately messaging them to me?
Thanks!

No problem to open this file on Windows, on different Elements versions as well as other common editors.
If you rename the file to avoid having two '.' in the file name, would it work better?

Here with pse 15 running on Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan shows the Image in the File>Open dialog.
Do you see the thumbnail in Finder itself or it's just not showing in the pse 15 Open dialog?

Thanks for the info. The suggestion above about the two periods seemed helpful, but the thumbnail images had miraculously come back by themselves and lasted for about a month. Now, they have again disappeared and been replaced by the icons again. I will check to see if it is both in PE and Finder. Oh, one other thing, I found out it is not PSE 15, but 14.1, in case that makes a difference.

The images don't show in Finder. The only way to see what the image is to double-click to open them in PSE. Otherwise, no way to see what is being opened.

Any ideas on this?
