I have about 1000 photos in Adobe Elements 6.0?  I'd like export all those photos into Apple Photos before they are all lost to me. I wondered if i pruchased Adobe Elements 2020, if my current 6.0 catalogue would be upgraded without losing any of my photos. I'd eventually like to place all my photos into Apple Photo. I'd appreciate any assistance in how to accomplish this task. Thank you in advance.

Your photo files are not in Elements, they are on your drive(s). The catalog only stores links to their real location (which you can see in the Organizer). Nothing prevents you to import those files into other managing softwares like Photos.

If you purchase Elements 2020 and install it on the same computer, the installation process should find your PSE6 catalog and prompt you to convert it to the current format. Note that it is expected that a new Elements version should be available soon.
