Hello, I have the above mentioned problem with Photoshop Elements (V14): JPG-files from other programs (in this case from Capture One 12) always open Camera Raw and not the PSE Editor. Is there anything I can do to avoid this. Help would be highly appreciated!
Unfortunately both hints are not working. Capture one settings were already at XMP 'none' and Camera Raw preferences in PSE does not give those selection options. But was worth a try. Thx!
There is a similar issue with jpegs that have already been opened in camera raw. Those files always open in ACR, even if opened from the organizer.
The solutions are to save for web or in png format. You can save back to jpeg from png. I suppose that may work the same in the Capture One situation.
For a lot of files, saving to png and back to jpeg may take time. With the organizer you can batch export to png, enter in the catalog and export back to jpeg.
It’s inconvenient but simply click the Open Image button bottom right after ensuring 8bits/channel is set for jpegs. That sends the image into the regular Editor where you can continue making adjustments.
