I have 32 layers but layer 29 is missing from the panel. The image for that layer is on my screen but I can't edit or delete it becuase the layer is missing from the panel, so I can't highlight it. Has anyone experienced this? How can I fix?

Thank you!

There are various possibilities, I suppose.  Perhaps you inadvertantly deleted the layer.  Have you possibly placed the layer into a Group?  Or maybe you Merged Down the layer, again inadvertantly.

Hello,

I don't believe I deleted the layer as I can see what is in the layer on the image. I just can't see that layer on the panel. So I guess I merged down the layer inadvertently...how can I undo this? I went into History but it only shows me what I did today, rather than on previous 'Saves'.

Thanks!

The History is only available for each editing session.  So it will not be available in a new editing session.  If you hide ALL of the layers, I assume that the missing layer does not show.  If you turn off each layer one at a time, presumably you will see which layer has merged with the missing layer.
