Photoshop Elements 10 is not working

Elements 10 will open file, but unable to edit???

What OS are you using?

What tool(s) have you tried to use?  What happens when you try to use a tool - do you receive any error message?

Which editing mode are you in? (Expert or other other?)

Have you tried editing more than one file?

yes,i've tried more than one file, no tools are working

Suggest that you reset preferences to default. In your old version of PSEv.10, do the following:

To restore preferences quickly using a keyboard shortcut:

• Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop Elements. You are prompted to delete the current settings. The new preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop Elements.
