Photoshop Elements 14 - Print Dialogue Screens Very Slow to Respond

Using:

Windows 10 v1809 Build 17763.475. Fully up to date.  16Gb RAM fitted.

Canon iP7250 printer.  Drivers up to date.

Photoshop Elements 14.1. 64bit Fully up to date.

Problem:

When invoking the print command it takes an age for the print dialogue screen to appear and attempting to access any of the print set up menus results in further long delays.  After these multiple lengthy delays I can then print without a problem.

All other programs I use have no printing issues - only Elements 14.  This is the only issue I have with Elements 14.

I have tried Adobe "Support" .  They are no longer prepared to offer support to such an old (?) program!  Hopefully, someone out there can help.
