Photoshop elements is stuck on error message

Hi: When I opened Photoshop 2020 tonight I got the message that there was a new update.  I clicked on download update when exiting.  I then proceeded to run a photofile that was already in my system through some element filters.  When I saved it I got an error for it.  I couldn't get rid of it so I finally deleted the entire photo.  Now when I try to update it gives me the same error saying the update can't be opened and I must find an application to open it.  Very frustrated.  I shut down, re-opened.  Nothing has helped and it's stuck.

Buongiorno, ieri sera mi è capitato quasi uguale, non è riuscito ad installarsi l'aggiornamento ed è sparito tutto, adesso quando apro "elements" mi esce che è bloccato e di inviare il rapporto...come devo fare per tornare indietro come prima? grazie... dove lo trovo Adobe Update Helper?

This thread can be closed.  I don't rememer how I solved it, but the replies were not what helped me.  Sorry for not remembering how this went down.  Thank you Medha Sharma for your help.
