I am not sure how to fix the problems. I am attaching an example of one of the pctures I have a problem  with. When I zoom in to the picture, thats when I get jagged (squared) edges around different areas of the face and hair, etc. Please help. I am trying to correct pictures for a geneology family tree.

This image is only 60 x 80 pixels.

To stay relatively crisp at a resolution of 150 pixels per inch (adequate for Genealogy use), it will be printed at only 1 centimeter wide.

There is  nearly nothing you can do to add detail or help with the pixellisation.

If you are using cropped parts of scanned image, it will help to scan at a better resolution.
