PSE using create to make photo collages?

Want to make my own 'design' collage pages to created photo book.  Have been using a very old version PSE 7 which allowed me to choose a basic page layout with say 2, 3, 4 or more boxes to load selected photos into - then move boxes around, stretch, squeeze, tilt, even overlap two photos and decide which to bring to front etc

easy to use and make super printed pages.  Did all this on very elderly and modest laptop running windows.

Upgraded to new top line retina Mac and bought PSE 2019...........extremely disappointed in 2019 -will not let me do many of the 'movement' things I used to do - wants to select FOR ME which layout I use ......very unhappy, I want control back.  I am a beginner to the more advanced PSE features but already back to my old PSE 7.

You should be able to do this in any version of the program

Try this:

  1. Make sure that in the Editor, you are on the Expert tab
  2. Go to File>new>blank file. Enter the dimensions of your paper stock, resolution 240-300px/in, background: White. This will be your canvas - - Background layer
  3. Go to File>place, point to picture #1, and invoke the "place" command. Picture #1 will come in on its own layer..
  4. You can resize with the corner handles of the bounding box, and drag into position
  5. Repeat for pictures 2, 3, 4, etc.
  6. To fine tune, activate the move tool in order to do your "movement things."

Hi have looked at video "make own custom collage" which gives answer just as 'hastead' (see above) but gives a little more showing how to move images around/resize etc even after you have first placed them

Thanks
