I tried that.
I get "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"
Will a .psdt file not open in Elements? I just downloaded it from the site and its just a pretty simple collage file.
Ah Elements. I don't use Elements but I'll move your post to the Photoshop Elements forum so hopefully you will get a quick answer
What version of photoshop elements and operating system are you using?
Could you give us a link to where you downloaded the file?
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 2018 Running on Windows 10.
Downloaded from Adobe Stock
Its the Photoshop collage layouts. I'm totally new to the Photoshop family but consider myself to be pretty computer literate. its proving to be a learning curve for me!
A Photoshop template can be opened (and used) only in Photoshop.
Seems odd that Adobe emails me product offers for a product I don't have licensed....
I just looked this up and saw on another thread that manually changing the extension from psdt to psd lets the template open as an image in earlier versions of Photoshop. Can you try that in Elements and report back?
Looking into this more for you, I just watched Deke's title about templates (What's New in PS 2017) on www.lynda.com. To save an psd as a template, he simply changes the extenstion to .psdt. So the reverse should work.
I read that too. I changed the file to .psd and it will let me open it now! It gives me the option to choose to flatten or keep layers. I've tried both flattening and leaving layers and i'm still not sure what I'm supposed to do with this file next......but.....now it opens! On to my next google search I guess! Thanks!
YES!!!! Manually changing the file extension worked, thank you!
I now how a psdt file works
I only wont the PSDT visible in the bridge and in my files.
Not in the the way of PSDT but as an image and the PSDT still stands.
I see all my psd files with a image , i had to use a dll for to make the change .
I hope you understand ,i am a belgium women
