if you follow all 7 steps, you can download a trial via one of the links on this page using a browser that accepts cookies:  http://prodesigntools.com/direct-download-links-for-lightroom-3-and-photoshop-elements-8.html

and activate with your serial number.

if you have a download problem (eg, you see an error page or you are offered an incorrect version), you probably didn't follow all 7 steps.  typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also

Not sure why Adobe has to make this so relatively difficult.  I'm a little leery of installing two different files, and then from a site I've never seen before that's not officially affiliated with Adobe.  The reason I'm looking for PSE8 is that PSE13, for me, was a giant step backward.  I lost the ability to easily morph objects by pushing them around on-screen, and I lost the ability to guide light over objects in the direction of my choice.  There were other useful functions that disappeared in PSE13 as well.  Since I own PSE8, I'd like to be able to access the original installation link without going through the online equivalent of a Rube Goldberg device.

That information from 2014 is no longer valid... Adobe has removed all download links EXCEPT for those cases where someone bought a download direct from Adobe

you may download ONLY if you bought direct from Adobe via download
-Log-in to your account and click this link https://account.adobe.com/products
--click Order history on the left and then the link to your order that will show on the right
--and finally click the link "Downloads and serial numbers" that will appear
--as always, write the serial number in a text file AND copy that text file and the
---download file(s) to an external drive (or two) to be sure you have what you need
-if you did not buy direct from Adobe via download you must find your original install
--if you have an Education or volume license you MUST use your original media
--the link for an Education or volume license download is not available at all
-if you bought a disc and don't have a drive you will need to buy an external USB drive
-if you bought a download from a 3rd party vendor you will need to contact that vendor

What a great cartoonist, Rube Goldberg. 😊  To what John T Smith already said, PSE 8 would be a house of cards anyway do you really want that headache?  Shopping a competitors app with the features you miss, or GIMP, etc, or installing PSE 2020 would make much more sense.  By the way you might give 2020 a fresh look.  It's on sale for $74.99 until 4/19.
