I have been comparing the Smart Fix in Photoshop Elements versus Auto-Enhance in Photoshop Express as a means to re-process and quickly identify improvements in some older photos. With both softwares being common to Adobe, I had expected that the tools would produce effectively the same result.  However, I have tried this and the results are notably different.  The wizard in Photoshop Express appears to be making additional changes beyond those under Photoshop Express.

I would like to know whether these are systematic (due to a different process) or random, and if so what these might be.  Also, I want to know whether the results in Photoshop Elements can replicate the results in Photoshop Express, given the greater level of creative control in the former.
