Bought PS Elements 2020 "standalone" version. Redeemed purchase then downloaded and installed program.  When I start PSE I am asked to sign in (but nowhere on the message to enable sign in !!).

Am I understanding this correctly?  I have bought and installed the program on my computer but Adobe still want me to sign in everytime I use the program.  If this is true and I have a problem with an internet connection, I cannot say oh well! , while I'm waiting for the internet to be available I will just edit those photos I have been meaning to get to ?

Did you purchase Photoshop Elements (the photo editor) or Premiere Elements (the video editor)?

I purchase Premier. I called the 800 # and got great support. My original download had a problem. He re-installed and is now fine. I was using the "Premier " editor  ( For Videos) my error. So was worth the time to call. I had them call me back.

I actually played along with the "Trial Version" message and eventually was asked to enter a serial number.

Closed PSE then restarted and it was okay !!!  Even disconnected from the internet and restarted PSE and it worked just fine.  Adobe have their strange ways !!!.    When I went into "Help ... About PSE"   I could see in the detail where it had changed from Trial Version to Permanent licence.

Odd that Serial Number had to be entered on 2 occasions.  Alls well that ends well.
