Adobe Elements 2019.  When I try to run updates, i get "updates have been disabled for this machine. Please contact your administrator"

Windows 10, the adobe update service is running. I get a prompt saying there is an update available when I launch elements Organizer, but when I click install, i get that message.  I've looked in registry and cant figure out where this block is coming from?

Try checking the content of C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat and see if any setting stands-out that might be causing the issue.

I do. I deleted that file, opened up adobe, and the "Adobe Photoshop  Elements 2019 Updater" program launched and is downloading files (looks very similar to the creative cloud interface).

Thanks so much for your help!

This thread is specific to photoshop elements.

You should inquire in the Adobe XD forum.

I have Windows 10.  I have Creative Cloud.  Photoshop 22.01 and Lightroom Classic 9.1 are the ones that I use most and can't update.  I have a new camera and can't upload photos without using a DNG converter.

There is no need to delete this file

C:\Program files(x86)\common files\adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0\AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat

Just open it in a text editor and change the line:

<Suppressed>1</Suppressed>

To

<Suppressed>0</Suppressed>

and save it. This will allow all your installed Adobe applications to update successfully.

I don't seem to have the AdminPrefs. Only have AdobeUpdaterPrefs. This is a personal machine (no other admin than me). Running Mac OS 13.0.1 (Ventura). Not only is the popup message annoying, but now I'm realizing that my Photoshop Elements, and probably Acrobat Reader, are not being updated. What can I do?
