I just upgraded from pse 10 to 2021. It brought all my photoes into Organizer but none will open in Editor. It seems to still be running in the background "analyzing faces". The error in Editor is "Could not complete your request because of a disk error."
All photos can still be opened and edited by PSE v10.
I have a 2019 Mac running Mojave v 10.14.6
I'm afraid to uninstall v10 until 2021 runs. I use an external drive for Time Machine.
Suggestions?
Hi
Can you please try to Reset Preferences. Follow these steps:
Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor -> Preferences > On general tab, click "Reset Preferences on Next Launch" > Click Ok and Releaunch the application.
Hope it works for you. Let us know how it goes.
Regards,
Nidhi

I know nothing about Macs, but there are many posts suggesting that Elements won't work well with Time Machine.

What happens if you try to open a photo directlt into Editor using the option File -> Open.
Have you tried keeping your photos into the Pictures Location for Mac?

Worked! Thanks!
But when I went to open a pic from Organizer it said something about new photos in Watched Folders. I could not cancel or import or close the program. I had to force close.

It worked in that I could open a jped directly from my files but after trying to use Editor to open anything it stopped again. Same error. I also had to reset preferences after a recent reboot. Suggestions please!

Hi All -
When I use the "Healing Brush" (also the "Clone Stamp Tool" too), I get the error: "Could not use the healing brush because of a disk error" (or same error pointing to the Clone Stamp Tool). Then, just about anythign else I attempt to do reports a different disk error; can't save all the work done to the image I'm editing. It is very discouraging after never having this occur on my older Windoes machine with all sorts of versions of PSE I've been using for years. I'm new to macOS and bought PSE for it immediately to get to work.
Here's the specifications for my system:
PSE 2021
Adobe Photoshop Elements Version: 19.0 (20210304.m.156367) x64
Operating System: Mac OS 10.15.7
System architecture: Intel CPU Family:6, Model:158, Stepping:13 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, AVX2, HyperThreading
Physical processor count: 8
Logical processor count: 16
Processor speed: 2300 MHz
Built-in memory: 16384 MB
Free memory: 5921 MB
Memory available to Photoshop Elements: 9198 MB
Memory used by Photoshop Elements: 70 %
It seems the popular first action is a Preferences Reset. Is anyone else eexperiencing this using macOS Catalina and PSE 2021?
Suggestions welcome! Thanks in advance...
All the best - Freddy
