I found my photoshop elements 8 serial #; not on current computer; can I upgrade to elements 2021?
I never had a version in between that I don't think.
If I buy the upgrade, and for some strange reason it does NOT work, HOW would I pay the extra $20 for the 'non-upgrade' version?
The only reason I can think of why it may not work is way back when, when I had Photoshop Elements 8, what if it didn't get deactivated?
thanks
There is no "upgrade version". It's just a price discount.
Each version installs independently of each other installation of PSE.
You can go here to ask to have your activations for PSE8 reset (Only ask to have your activatios reset):

Hi Peru Bob,
Thank you for replying to the questions I asked.
Yes, I understand there is no 'upgrade version' per se.
If I buy the program for $80; and I can't get it up and running; would it most likely be because PSE8 is stuck as having too many activations?
and then, if so, i go to those links above and just have it reset?
thanks

Probably not, but it wouldn't hurt to have your activations reset anyway.

So I did exactly what you said; and just as anticipated it was ridiculous. took about 45 min; first person had no idea what I was talking about; said she had to transfer me.
Second person gave me pricing info. Even though I asked her to READ what I needed. then it was back & forth forever explaining; then hopefully, it was was done. We'll see. I have little hope!
but thanks;
I hope it was done : )

Each version of the program is independent. Installation of a newer version does not overwrite an older version. You can have PSEv.8 & PSEv.21 on the same machine.
Suggest that you evaluate the new version with the free 30day trial. If you like it, you may purchase it subsequently.
