Use Organizer and Editor simultaneously (new iMac)?

I have PSE 2018 running on a new 2019 Retina 5K iMac with a 3.7 GHZ CPU, 40GB SDRAM and a 1TB SSD. If I open the Organizer and then open an image for editing, the editing tends to be really slow. For example, selecting an area with a smart tool causes much "wheel spinning." I have tried to optimize the memory settings in the Editor without any noticeable effect.

  • Can anyone suggest memory settings that might help?
  • Does anyone know if PSE 2019 is any better at this?

Hi LeoMessi,

Sorry that Photoshop Elements 2018 is running slower than you expected.

It sounds like the app needs some minor optimization to make it perform better.

Could you please take a look at the steps mentioned in this article Troubleshoot system errors, freezes, and crashes in Photoshop Elements  and let us know if that helps?

Thanks,

Akash
