Imported images loses brightness

When I import a photo into Photoshop Express, white/bright areas turn grey/darker. Like the photo quality is reduced.
Why does this happen?

I have attached 2 photos. One is the original, the other has been imported and immediately exported without changes and still, if you take a look at the sun, there is a huge difference.
