Hello! I've got a 1200x1000 jpeg which I'd like to increase to 1400x1400. I don't care if it's a bit blurred or pixellated. I've tried watching some videos but these appear to be for an older version of photoshop express. Can anyone help with the one that's currently being used? The most I can come up with is I go under Preferences, click on Custom under Image Resize and adjust to 1400 and set the JPEG Quality to 100%. There isn't any button to 'Save' or anything, so I just tap the arrow to leave the window. I'm wondering whether this is cancelling my request to change the image size. Not sure about that since I don't get any confirmation either way. I go to Save and it keeps coming out as 1200x1000. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I'd just go to Image>Image Size and adjust it there. You can change the size and DPI there. However, since the image is 1200x1000, it's not going to be 1400x1400 since the original image isn't square. So if you want to make it square without distorting it, I'd change the smaller number to 1400, then I'd go to Image>Canvas Size and change the larger number to 1400, which keep in mind, would crop the image. If you don't want to Crop, but want to distort it, when you change the Size in Image Size, Click the litle chain link image to disconnect the 2 numbers and then change them both to 1400.
But keep in mind, since the imge is 1200x1000. There is going to be no way to get it to 1400x1400 without cropping or distorting it in some way

No, you can't change the size of an image in Preferences. You do it in Image menu > Image size.
You need to be aware that you are using a different aspect ratio and will distort your image, so make a copy first, as the damage cannot be undone. You'll also need to turn off the Link icon that keeps the image proportional.
In addition, you indicated you are saving a jpeg. Editing and resaving a jpeg loses information each time you do this. Jpegs are lossy.
