File duplicated when using heal in Photoshop fix

Whenever I open a file from Lightroom Mobile in Photoshop fix and perform a bunch of healing the file is converted from a jpeg or RAW into a PNG (and therefore duplicating the file). Is this normal? Is there a way I can avoid it?
