Text duplicates over image on photoshop

I've just started my Photoshop trial on iPad and when I add text to my image it duplicates across the image like a watermark... is that because I'm on the trial or have I done something stupid?

Text tool should create a text layer automatically. May be worth trying reinstalling the app.
