colorize a png with transparent areas (Photoshop Mix)

Is it possible to colorize the visible parts of a png only?

Hey

If you do actually mean colorize then yes!

1. Add your transparent.png
2. Add a solid color layer
3. drag the png layer thumbnail on to the color layer thumbnail
4. Choose Copy Mask on Layer
5. Change the blending mode of the color layer to color
6. If desired, drag the color layer thumbnail on to the .png layer thumbnail and choose ​Merge on Layer to permanently change it
