3D Model fail

I'm completely self taught on Photoshop and i've tried to have a look around for a fix as i'm not sure what's happening here.

I'm currently contracted to a company creating 2d & 3d assets and whenever I import models into photoshop recently PS just can't deal with it. I set them up with the same settings that I've done previous work at and it just tears the screen. I can go back and open old files at the high resolution no problem but even if I go half the size on the new ones, this happens.

Is it something i'm doing wrong, should I potentially be using a different program? Open to suggestions as i'm blind on this one.

Thanks!

Have you tried other »Advanced Settings« under

Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings?
