Adding polygon lasso points outside of a zoomed window

When zoomed into an image and making a selection using a polygon lasso, you no longer are able to go outside the right or bottom of the window. It is difficult to land a point right on the edge if you need to. I have discovered that you can if you make the point on any dialog box outside of the zoomed in window. The example here is using the Notes dialog box. Any dialog box works such as layers, adjustment layer boxes etc.
Note* the example below shows the polygon line cursor and points outside of the zoomed in window, this is just for illustration purposes. The line and points do not show up outside of the zoomed window when making the points.polly points.jpg

Have you considered using the Pen Tool to create a Path instead?

In some situations that might offer benefits.

Yes sometimes the pen is better. I like rasterized masks because I can modify the softness of the edges in localized areas to blend better in situations where there is a more shallow depth of field.
