Hello,

I have a 2013 Macbook Pro with Adobe Lightroom 3 installed and use this for editing raw photos I take with my Nikon D7000 camera.

I havent done this for a while but when I try to import to LR a current picture in raw format it cant import it and gives me the following error: The file is from a camera which is not recognized by the raw format supported in Lightroom. (1)   When I then click OK the window closes or if I click check for updates it cannot update stating "The version check was unsuccessful".  I get that the Db was changed in a 3.x update that makes things not backward compatible but why cant i open my own files and edit them?  Any help is appreciated.  Thank you!

The Nikon D7000 requires at least Lightroom 3.3

What exact version of Lightroom 3 do you have?

(Lightroom>About Lightroom)

Did you use Nikon Capture to get the nefs from your camera?

What version of macOS are you using?

I have LR 3.2 Raw 6.2  and am running MacOS Big Sur 11.1

I am simply sliding my SD card in to the slot on my MacBook.

Thanks for the quick reply!  I appreciate it.

Lightroom 3.6 is the newest Lightroom 3 version.

https://supportdownloads.adobe.com/detail.jsp?ftpID=5307

You can try updating, but it might not work since Apple made huge changes to the macOS including not being able to run 32 bit software and i believe Lightroom 3 software uses 32 bit installers even though the Lightroom application itself is 64 bits.
