Artifacts appearing when dragging a selection

Hi all,

I have a problem when working with Photoshop CC (latest version): when I drag a selection, artifacts appear on image until I release the left mouse button. It is difficult for me to work with all these artifacts. Moreover, sometimes the selection lines start flickering.

I already tried to completely disable GPU, with no effects. I also tried with reverting to previous compositing engine. My laptop card is a nVidia GeForce 1650.

EDIT: It happens when I have about 8/10 (not large) images opened in PS. If I close PS and reopen it, it works correctly. I've set 10Gb memory available to PS.

Hi

There are a couple of things you could try, in addition to those you mentioned in your first post.

Photoshop is seeing two GPUs (your Nvidia GTX1650 and an integrated UHD630. Try setting Photoshop only to use the NVIdia card. See section 7 & 8 here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html

Ensure both video drivers are up to date and try a clean install on the NVidia driver (when updating choose advanced and the clean install)

Thank you, your solution worked. But since Photoshop v.22 there is another bug with selection tool if graphic acceleration is enabled: https://feedback.photoshop.com/conversations/photoshop/photoshop-220-selection-marquee-off-by-1px/5f...

So:

- if I have graphic acceleration disabled, I have artefacts when dragging selections.

- if I have graphic acceleration enabled, I have the 1px selection bug.

I sincerely hope they fix at least one of these two stupid bugs, it's really difficult to work this way.
