Background bug

When uploading my image file into an Indesign document it is coming up with a black background in the image box. However when viewing it outside of indesign there isnt a background on the image. 

if someone can please advise as i have tried almost everything i know to solve.

You posted in the Photoshop forum but you mention InDesign, so is it a Photoshop or InDesign question

Appolgies! it covers both Indesign and Photoshop.

The photo is a TIFF that as come from a PSD file, The TIFF file when i open in Word is fine it has no background. 

However when i then open this in both Photoshop and Indesign it shows a black background.

I have solved the issue, when placing in the file into the document i requested 'show import options' to change the Alpha Channel.
