I'm taking the plunge into scripting, and have searched this forum on the subject by searching "beginner", before you ask. I have saved some links provided in other posts. A common answer is to just look at scripts and try to figure it out, but it seems like one needs to already know JavaScript before utilizing ExtendScript to the fullest.
I've looked at these documents:
Adobe Introduction to Scripting
Abobe Photoshop CC 2015 JavaScript Scripting Reference
JavaScript Tools Guide PDFs.
Adobe says in the JavaScript Tools Guide:
◆ This document does not teach JavaScript. If you are familiar with scripting or programming in
general, but unfamiliar with JavaScript, see publicly available Web resources and documents, such
as:
The public JavaScript standards organization web site: www.ecma-international.org
JavaScript: The Definitive Guide, David Flanagan, O’Reily Media Inc, 2002. ISBN 0-596-00048-0
JavaScript Bible, Danny Goodman, Hungry Minds Inc, 2001. ISBN 0-7645-4718-6
Adobe Scripting, Chandler McWilliams, Wiley Publishing, Inc., 2003. ISBN 0-7645-2455-0
NOTE: Check for updated versions of this document at Adobe Developer Center,
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/scripting.
I'm new to scripting and programming, so this doesn't apply to me as it is worded.
Any suggestions for a learning path?
Thanks.

Read as first Photoshop Scripting Guide (Adobe Photoshop Scripting), however you can learn Javascript first by https://www.codecademy.com/ and then practise on Train with Programming Challenges/Kata | Codewars

Hi Jeremy,
this one will be the perfect guide for PhotoShop scripting, I think:
Davide Barranca: Professional PhotoShop Scripting
