Brush, alt click to change color

I can not select a color when using the brush and alt+click. I get the eyedropper icon but it does not change the color.  If I select the eyedropper, all layer and below  etc..it will work ok.  Every day lately with PS or LR is is another problem....just saying..

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible?

Hello, check the color panel to see if it does not target the background color well.
