When I'm illustrating line art within Photoshop, I sometimes want to select part of the layer, move it, and then transform it (e.g. rotate).

After I do this, I can no longer apply a brush or eraser to this layer for some reason.

  • I can select the brush and eraser and they do perform some kind of action that I can save
  • I cannot see the pixels created by the brush or eraser
  • I made sure to de-select the area selected by the marquee
  • I made sure that I'm selecting the RGB layer in the Channels panel
  • I made sure that I'm not in a layer mask or anything.

My computer specs:

  • 2018 Macbook Pro 15 inch
  • 2.9 Ghz Intel
  • 32 GB ram
  • OS Mojave 10.14.4

Any suggestions on what to do?

I'm having the same issue and it's driving me mad. I have to reboot the projecct to get the brushes and eraser working again. Did you manage to resolve at all?
