Brush Strokes Filters..... where art thou?

Any idea why "Brush Strokes" is not an option for me when I click on "Filter"? I have other options such as Blur and Noise and Stylize. No Brush Strokes!
It's been a decade since I cared for Brush Strokes. Now that I want to create a simple Crosshatch effect I am being thwarted. Ugh..... help!

Great to hear thay found what you were looking for, but a tip for the next time you have a similar situation...  A highly useful search feature was added to Photoshop a couple of major updates ago.  Even as a regular user, there are times when I need a tool that I have not used for a very long time, and the search feature in the top right corner of the workspace takes you straight to it.

If you would prefer not to use Filter Gallery you can check

Photoshop > Preferences > Plugins > Show all Filter Gallery groups and names

to have the groups of Filters listed in the Filters menu.

I'm looking for Cross hatch, which seems to be part of the same library - they show as grey in the menu, currently unavailable when I use the search option (that was a good tip, thanks) - any suggestions for achieving a similar pattern please?

is it because the 8 bit has less colour information in it, so can be split up?

Some Filters, in particular such old ones, don’t work in CMYK, 16bit, 32bit, …

I suspect they could be adapted to meet more current workflow needs, but unless there is considerable support for the request they will just »linger«, I guess.
