Brush stuck in Burn mode

I can't get my brushes to apply color. It will only burn.

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible? 

What are the settings in the Options Bar? 

Have you reset the Tool yet?

Does this tell you enough? I'm not sure how to reset the tool. When I try to nothing happens.

That’s not the Brush Tool but the Burn Tool.

Please select the Brush Tool if you want to use it to paint. (There are others Tools that can be used »painterly«, but the Brush Tool is probably the most straightforward one.)

I did choose the Brush Tool but it kept going to the Burn Tool. But I just tried it again, following your instruction and it worked. I obviously did something wrong. Thank you so much!
